PRYOR FAMILY IN BEDFORD CO., VA
Several Pryor marriages are recorded in Bedford County, Virginia. To
discover who these Pryors were and how they were related a search of the
1850 Census was conducted. These records may be of interest to
researchers of the Pryors in Sumner Co., TN. While no connection has
been documented, it should be noted that two marriages occured between
Pryors and Mays. In 1860 Jonathan Pryor's children were living with
Major Mays and his wife Virginia in Sumner Co., TN. Jonathan Pryor was
the son of William and Spicy Pryor of Campbell Co., VA. His children
were staying with the Mays family while he served out a prison sentence in
Nashville.

William Holliday, he would have been 38 at the time of his marriage to Polly.
Perhaps this was a second marriage for Polly Pryor and she was an older bride.
There is a marriage noted above for Juggy Pryor, a daughter of Polly Pryor.
Another marriage, Nancy Pryor in 1819, had William Holliday acting as
surety... perhaps Nancy was another daughter of Polly Pryor. Researchers on
Ancestry.com state that William's second wife was Sarah Johnson.)
