1810 Census Extractions

I am interested in John and William Pryor who married Taylor sisters: William Pryor married Spicy Taylor in 1809 in Campbell Co., VA.  John Pryor married Spicy's sister Massy Taylor in 1812 in the same county.  They later settled in Overton and Sumner Co., TN, with descendants in neighboring counties.   Since the 1810 Census was taken during the period between 1809 and 1812, I had hoped to find the Pryors and Taylors on the Campbell Co. census records.

Both of these Edmunds were 26 - 44 years old in 1810 (born between 1766 and 1784)  The age of Edmund  (father of Spicy, Massy, Hezekiah, et al) is unknown. He reported his age on the 1820 Census as over 45 (born before 1775).  Since he died in 1824, no other census records exist to confirm his age.   His first known child, Chesley Taylor, was born in 1785.  Edmund was probably born in 1765 or earlier.  The 1766 birth date on the 1810 census could match our Edmund.  However, Edmund and Elizabeth had 2 to 3 young daughters still living at home in 1810.  These Edmunds do not have any daughters listed on the census.

My speculation is that one of these Edmunds is indeed the Edmund who fathered Spicy, Massy, etc. Spicy was 19 when she married William Pryor in 1809.  Their first child is believed to be have been born in about 1810.  Perhaps some of the people counted with William Prier above are Taylor family members helping out before or just after the birth of the Taylor's first grandchild.
