William Pryor of Rhea Co., TN is the son of Harmon Pryor (c. 1844) and his wife Mary. This connection is supported by the 1880 Census- William aged 11 was recorded as a son in the household of Harmon and Mary Pryor in Marion Co.,TN. Also in the house was his brother Green, sister Georgie and brother Andrew.

In 1900 both William and wife Anna, his brother Green and wife Samantha... and their mother Mary were in Rhea Co., TN. Still living with Mary Pryor were her son Nathan "Andrew and her married daughter Georgia A. West. Additional children in the household were Richard, May and Mary. In 1910 William and wife Ann were in Rhea Co. and his brother Richard was in the next household. Mary Pryor and son Andrew were also in Rhea Co. in 1910.

Harmon Pryor is on the 1860 Census in Sequatchie Co., TN with his Elizabeth Pryor, possibly his mother. Other researchers on the Rootsweb board have theories to who is the father of Harmon Pryor.

Harmon's son William Pryor was born 1868 and married Ann Clouse, daughter of George Clouse, in 1894. William worked on the railroad in Rockwood, TN as a switchman. He was reported to be deaf and dumb and used sign language.
