H. W. Pryor b. 1829 in TN or is he William A. Pryor?

I was contacted by a Pryor researcher who has the marriage date of 18 Oct 1860 for a William A. Pryor to Mahalia Lewis in Montgomery Co., AR. A relative gave her the info that Mahalia was the daughter of James Lewis & Frances Sample. She also provided that William was from TN and that the union produced a daughter named Ellen Lucinda Pryor.

On the 1860 Census there are both Lewis and Pryor households in Montgomery Co., AR.

In 1860 Mahalia is enumerated in correctly as a male. Mahalia and her parents are found on the 1850 Census in Fayette Co., TN.

What happened to H. W. Pryor between his marriage in 1860, the birth of his child in 1862 and the 1870 Census? He is not listed amongst the Pryors (or other spelling variations) in the BLM website for Arkansas Land Patents. A possibility is that he died during the Civil War. A James Pryor is listed amongst a Confederate company that formed in Montgomery Co., AR (see http://www.rootsweb.com/~armontgo/montgomery_hunters.htm). Using the census indexes on Ancestry.com, there is no trace of William and no James Pryor in Montgomery or the surrounding counties in 1860 or 1870.

A Henry M. Pryor served in the Co. H, 1 (Colquitt's) Arkansas Infantry . Ancestry.com has the 1860 H. W. Pryor in Montgomery Co. indexed as H. M. Rayer. Perhaps Henry M. the soldier and H. W. are the same person? It should be noted that Lucinda, the daughter of Mahalia Lewis and William A. Pryor, named her first born son Henry W. (Lucinda married Christopher Columbus Small and has been found on the 1880 Census).
